Rosa Martinez Reyes is a 34 year old single mother of five children, aged two to 13 years old.

Two years ago, her husband abandoned the family, leaving her as the sole support. Vicente Guerrero has a predominantly agriculture economy. Rosa works six days a week in the fields when work is available.

We have been able to help Rosa by paying the balance due on her lot - a payment which had not been made in one and a half years. Give a Little - Give a Lot, Inc. has also been able to pay off her grocery store bill, which had reached over $300.

Rosa continues to struggle keeping her family fed. However, she has no fear of losing her home now that the lot has been paid off. Her children, however, are unable to attend school due to the high cost of books, shoes, uniforms and school supplies.
